State of Atrophy
The other night I talked with a friend that I had not talked to in quite a while. This conversation made me realize how much I have changed and how much I would like to, if possible return to the state of mind that I was in a year earlier. I feel as though the the state of mind that I am in is atrophied, numb and just going one day to the next. I need excitement and passion again. This is a scripted video of my thoughts on this and the blog I started and maintained known as De-Atrophication of the Brain.

I liked this Andy. I like how you had the camera on you as you read. Very creative.
Now, as to your point that you “lost” the old Andy — I disagree. You are changing. We all change. Stick with what you like from the old you and embrace the new.
In any event — keep up with the great material and I want it frequently.

The “old” Andy? Honey, when I was your age, I was listening to Queen on an 8-track tape player in my 1974 Chevy Vega — THAT was “old”. But I digress…
Its one thing to “make do with what you’ve got”, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with aiming for something higher. Whether it’s material things, or not. Change isn’t always bad, it’s just a little scary sometimes. Take it from me — I’ve been there. I’m old. I doubt your brain will ever atrophy.

Great video, Andy. I hope you don’t mind if I steal some of your transitions for some of my future videos. And I can identify with your “atrophy” feelings. I’ve been going through some of that lately, myself. But don’t lose sight of who you are and how you’ve changed. It’s good to be able to look back at past attitudes or behaviors and want to retake any of those that are good. But it’s also important to maintain who you are now and just let life “happen.” I’ve had some seriously misrable experiences since moving to California, but in a lot of ways, I wouldn’t trade them for anything, and when I look at some of my older podcasts or blogs, I can see the changes, and they’re not all bad.

Shawno - Thanks for you thoughts. I really appreciate them. Since I’ve done this video I have looked back and realized that I need to appreciate how I’ve changed but continue to move on. I realize now that I have changed for good reasons.
Steal whatever you like. I’m not a copyright whore. I use to have a Creative Commons thingy on my videos, but, I just don’t care anymore, lol.
