Sweet and Spicy Meatloaf

A favorite meal of mine is meatloaf with mashed potatoes and corn. I thought I would prepare a meatloaf and record how I make it for everyone to enjoy. It’s a sweet and spicy meatloaf with a whole pantry inside of it, even something to help you get rid of it later! It’s a very yummy dish and I hope you enjoy the video.

Sweet and Spicy Meatloaf

I apologize to those of you who do not like longer videos. This one goes on for about 20 minutes. It could have very easily went on for 40 minutes but I trimmed it down quite a bit. I really did enjoy doing this one.

Oh and you may also notice that I have a new name for these cooking videos, “Cooking with Andy.” I have decided instead of starting multiple videocasts/podcast sites that I would essentially make Andy Not Andrew a “production company” (if you can call it that) and do multiple shows on this one blog and just differintiate them with a category.

Great video, Andy! I’ve just recently gotten into making meatloaves. Your recipe looks really good.

Also, what mpeg compression settings do you use? The quality of this video is superb.

  2. Shawno Says:

Damn. I’m seriously hungry now. Thanks, Andy!

Shawno - Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed it. You should do a response video, would enjoy seeing how you make yours. As far as the compression goes, it varies, but at the moment I am compressing my videos in a fairly high resolution: H.264 QVGA/768kbps Stereo/128kbps. I’ve been doing higher resolution primarily for personal reasons, if something was to happen to the original clips I’d still have the edited down version at a good quality.

I’ll probably be making a ‘loaf of my own later this week. I’ll see if I can make a video out of the process. And thanks for sharing your mpeg settings. I use Quicktime to compress my videos, and I don’t know if the overall quality of my finished videos is due to my software settings or if it’s just ’cause I don’t have a great camera. Anyway, I’ll experiment with it on my next video.

Neil - Thanks for your comments. You should leave a link so I’ll know who you are :) I’m glad you enjoyed the meatloaf … video! Too bad you couldn’t have joined me in the kitchen!

Shawno - Cool! I look forward to it! You’ve got a good camera. Your videos look just fine to me. Are you using your new camcorder or just a digital camera like me?

  7. Shawno Says:

It’s the Canan ZR800 camcorder for all of my videos. It’s the only thing I’ve got that captures video.
