The Eighth Month of 2008

This was a slow month for photography. I didn’t get out and take many photos. I did go out and take some high dynamic range (HDR) photos of the Jeep which I think turned out pretty well. I think they would be better, especially the photo of the front, if it had been washed first. If you’re interested in HDR Photography you can read about my approach to HDR and see a demonstration video on Tech Butter.

I like that you can see the reflections in the glass, the color detail and the overall depth of the tail light photos. I could have went realistic or very dramatic. I decided to go with realistic because I’m not that comfortable yet with highly saturated photos.

The HDR process really brought out the dirt that was on the Jeep. I didn’t think about washing the Jeep before I took the photos but I wish it had been washed. Though, I guess it makes it look a bit more rugged. That is, if a Jeep Liberty can look rugged.

The last photo is of Rajah. We have two cats: Rajah and Lex. As I was taking the photos of the tail lights they were laying on the top of the Jeep taking a nap. They were really cute so I took a few pictures of them. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a good photo of Lex while he was laying on top of the Jeep but I did of Rajah.

I think if you apply a grunge texture to the jeep, it will help with the dirt. I really like the taillights.
