To Make It All Happen

Video Editing Software

Sony Vegas Movie Studio, Platinum Edition

Great full featured video editing software for under $100. You can even do chroma key without having to upgrade to the $500 version of Sony Vegas. This software is especially great for color correcting videos, mixing in photos, audio, overlays and exporting the final product. If you use Windows and are looking for video editing software I would highly recommend it.

Blogging Software

MarsEdit

When I’m ready to put a blog post up about a video or anything else I use MarsEdit. It’s a great piece of software. I wrote a full review about it on my tech blog. It’s not free but it’s been worth every single penny that I gave for it.

WordPress

The content management system that I use for almost all of my websites now is WordPress. It’s free and supported by a great community. It’s highly customizable, too. If you’re not running WordPress, you should be!

Publishing Software

Feeder

When I have a new audio or video podcast ready to be released out onto my feed, I use Feeder from Reinvented Software. Feeder is amazing software. You have a lot of control over your feed and you can very easily submit your feed to the iTunes Store.

Video Hosting

GoDaddy

Since December of 2005 I have used GoDaddy for hosting all of my personal websites. I am very pleased with their service and pricing. If you need a domain name or web hosting I can’t recommend them enough. They’ve been really great.

Vimeo

In the beginning I was using Vimeo to host my videos but due to a policy change in their service I am now only streaming my videos through their site. This gives you the ability to watch the videos within your browser instead of having to download the video files which are generally large.

Recording Equipment

Sony CyberShot DSC-P93A

At the moment the only video recording device that I have available is my point and shoot digital camera. I’ve had it since February of 2005 and I have been doing all of my videos with it. It’s a pretty decent camera, I just wish it had a wider lens.
