Hemorrhoid Sufferers Support

On today’s podcast I talk about the breaded Parmesan cheese chicken that I made last night and give you my recipe and instructions for making it yourself. It’s really delicious and hopefully I’ll be able to do a cooking video of it someday.

Second topic of discussion today is potassium intake and how ironic it is that Earl Gray tea has bergapten which can block potassium channels. Ironic because while it can block potassium intake in some people it gives you 30mg of potassium per cup.

I also briefly mention a story I saw in the news today about the co-founder of WordPerfect donating $1 million to the “Yes on 8″ (the Hate) campaign.

Madge Weinstein has been suffering from a hemorrhoid the past week or so. I sympathize with her as hemorrhoids are not fun. I wish more people were open and honest about hemorrhoids. They’re a natural part of life. In today’s entry I read the section about hemorrhoids from the home remedy handbook I always use instead of going to the doctor (since I can’t afford to go to the doctor).

The song in today’s show is “If you’re prolapsed and you know it” by Cheryl Mercowski. It’s a beautiful song to go along with today’s topic, hemorrhoids. Go to Cheryl’s website and hear more beautiful songs.

There are other stories that I didn’t have time to get to today but am hopeful that I’ll be able to get to them tomorrow. Enjoy this very long and boring podcast. Donate money, too, please. Thank you!

Chicken Fried Rice

Friday, May 30th, 2008

A while back I got to wanting some chicken fried rice. Of course the only options were to drive an hour away to the nearest Chinese place, drive to the store and buy some frozen or go to the store and get the stuff to make my own. I didn’t exactly know how to make my own so I found some recipes online to go by. I’ve made it several times and it’s now a family favorite.

It’s a really easy dish to make, pretty in-expensive as well. That is if you have some key ingredients on hand such as rice, oil (preferably olive but vegetable works, too), frozen vegetables and soy sauce. If you’re vegan or vegetarian feel free to omit the offensive meat products and you’ll enjoy it, too.
