Potato Cake Makin’

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

Today I take the iBook for a spin into the kitchen. In the early days of my audio journal I would take the laptop into the kitchen and record audio cooking shows. I’d also discuss different things while I cooked. I haven’t done that in a while and thought I’d have a little nostalgia on today’s show. Today’s show isn’t that long. I had intended to record something longer but decided to break my notes into several shows because family will be at home over the next couple of days.

This Obese Life

Friday, November 14th, 2008

Today I talk about having my first shower since the new hot water heater installation. I talk about staying at home today to try and get some work done, even though I only managed to get as far as recording the podcast. I also talk about no-bake cookies, my photography portfolio, my meta life, computer issues and the clock that won’t quit.

Chicken Fried Rice

Friday, May 30th, 2008

A while back I got to wanting some chicken fried rice. Of course the only options were to drive an hour away to the nearest Chinese place, drive to the store and buy some frozen or go to the store and get the stuff to make my own. I didn’t exactly know how to make my own so I found some recipes online to go by. I’ve made it several times and it’s now a family favorite.

It’s a really easy dish to make, pretty in-expensive as well. That is if you have some key ingredients on hand such as rice, oil (preferably olive but vegetable works, too), frozen vegetables and soy sauce. If you’re vegan or vegetarian feel free to omit the offensive meat products and you’ll enjoy it, too.
